Probate Genealogy is unregulated, which is why great care must be taken when selecting an Expert. Many smaller firms are entirely unregulated and have little experience in the field and are not as thorough as they should be. Others acquire impressive-looking ‘credentials’ which, under scrutiny, amount to very little. Anglia Research has the following credentials:-
FSA Regulated
Retained by Public Trustee departments for governments throughout the world
Data Protection Act registration – Z9338731
We carry Professional Indemnity Insurance (Full details upon request)
Our MD is a Board Member of AGRA (The Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives). This is the primary Association for research, with membership being, uniquely, by assessment. All our other Researchers are either Members or trained to AGRA standards.
He is also a long standing member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and an accredited Expert Witness. We have Internal Service Standards Monitoring and operate within and independently verified and accredited BS EN ISO 9001 quality Management System, with a comprehensive complaints procedure and a clear and transparent Code of Conduct.
Our internal supervisory and compliance structure is similar to that of a Law firm. We employ several qualified Solicitors in-House and FILEX-qualified Staff, and our CEO previously managed a City Law Firm. Please see “Our People” pages for further details. We carry Professional Indemnity Insurance (details upon request)
In addition, Anglia research liaises with one of the country’s leading insurers to provide missing beneficiary insurance. Occasionally, despite everyone’s best efforts, it is possible that a relative simply cannot be traced. In other situations, it may not be cost effective to continue research into a particular branch of a family. There are also circumstances that may affect the distribution of an estate. Such as illegitimate and overseas births or family secrets that have never been mentioned. The provision of insurance enables the distribution of an estate to proceed with total peace of mind.
We are a well-kept secret, and we treat your information in the same way. Anglia Research has always opted to be a low-profile company, so you won’t find your cases used for publicity on the BBC or in any other media.
With even the smallest amount of information, our highly trained staff can solve simple matter quickly or piece together the most complex family tree. Our specialist team is strengthened by a global network of more than 200 research agents to help trace missing beneficiaries or next-of-kin worldwide.
We carry out research in many different ways, depending on the nature of the case. Our own in-house library hosts vast collections of relevant, and in some cases, unique research data which has been collected over many years. In addition to our in-house library, we have invested in the latest custom built databases, to ensure that we can provide a cost effective and efficient solution to any genealogical problem.
Our research findings are supported by fully documented family trees, which are presented in an easily understandable attractive format.
