Keely’s interest in genealogy was sparked by her grandparents’ golden wedding party when she was 17, when she met several relatives for the first time and started drawing a family tree to understand where everyone fitted in.

She eventually turned her hobby into a profession, running her own genealogy business for six years. She joined Anglia Research in 2023.

Building a family tree is like a cross between a jigsaw puzzle and a detective story, although there is usually less murder involved in my office work!
