Parents of school-aged children worldwide will be aware that on Monday, this week, the globe celebrated World Earth Day.

The day is intended to highlight the imminent risks of the world’s challenges, such as global warming, habitat destruction for wildlife and procurement of energy sources, and celebrate the achievements of tireless campaigners and innovators who make the Earth a better, more sustainable place.

At Anglia Research, we have a long way to go, but we are determined to continue in our efforts to become a more sustainable business, focused on social awareness and charitable enterprises.

Last week, the Good Business Charter, with whom we are accredited, published an article looking at Environmental Responsibility, which we feature in. We are delighted to share it with you here.

The Good Business Charter offers a straightforward accreditation process open to organisations of various sizes in the UK, acknowledging their commitment to responsible business practices. Accredited entities encompass a diverse range, from FTSE100 companies and partnerships to local authorities, universities, SMEs, charities, and sole traders.

In order to obtain accreditation from the Good Business Charter, organisations need to satisfy the criteria for all 10 elements. These encompass a comprehensive approach to caring for employees, suppliers, customers, and the environment.

The 10 commitments are listed below:

  • Real Living Wage
  • Fairer Hours and Contracts
  • Employee Wellbeing
  • Employee Representation
  • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
  • Environmental Responsibility
  • Pay Fair Tax
  • Commitment to Customers
  • Ethical Sourcing
  • Prompt Payment to Supplier

Being Good Business Charter accredited is something that we are proud of as it helps demonstrate our commitment and dedication to doing business the right way.
