Position: Associate Researcher
Janet became interested in family history when she discovered quite by chance that she was descended from someone famous. By the time she had verified this fact, she was well and truly hooked.
She has been a professional genealogist since 1998, offering a research service that covers the whole of Scotland. Educated in Kirkcaldy and Aberdeen, she was chair of ASGRA, the Association of Scottish Genealogists and Researchers in Archives, for eight years, and is now a fellow of the association.
Until recently, she was also on the council of AGRA, the sister association of ASGRA, based in England. The two associations entered into a partnership in 2010, in order to maintain high professional research standards throughout the UK.
